DOCUMENTED MOVIE SHOWING

Rescheduled many times, a showing of Documented was always within the goals for DA MSOE this year. After many uncontrollable circumstances which delayed plans, the showing aimed to educate attendees with information they might not have known and bring out a discussion with regards to Jose Vargas’ story and the overall plight that immigrants, undocumented or not, inherit through coming into our country.

During the date of our actual showing, technical difficulties and a fire emergency caused us to be unable to finish it, however, we presumed discussions at our next meeting. Despite this movie showing not going nowhere near as planned, we still have hopes for more to come.

ST. PATS CARNIVAL

Participating at the St. Patrick’s Day carnival for the first time (and winning 7th place), DA MSOE celebrated the Irish holiday by remembering the millions of Irish immigrants who have immigrated to the US- one of the largest group of immigrants prior to the twenty first century. While the table was not spectacular, it was a vessel to further promote our name on campus and gave us experience with running the booth for next year.
